Privacy Policy
FasterTale Music Bot · Last updated: October 17, 2026
In short: only the information needed to run the bot is kept. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and the user may ask for their data to be deleted at any time.
Who is responsible
FasterTale Music Bot is a tool under development by FasterTale, the personal lab of Martin Bissonnette, in Quebec, Canada. For any question about their personal information, the user may contact the administrator on Discord.
Information collected
- Account: the user's username and password. The password is never stored as is: only an encrypted fingerprint is kept, which cannot be read back.
- Content: the track lists, the links and file names added, the playlists, the settings, and the members and sharing set up by the user.
- Technical data: the IP address and the date and time of logins and page requests, recorded in logs for security purposes.
- Discord: the names and IDs of the servers and voice channels the bot is invited to, so that it can connect to them. The bot does not listen to or record conversations.
How it is used
- To run the service: logging in, showing the lists, playing the music.
- To protect the service: blocking repeated login attempts and abuse.
The data is not used for any other purpose: no advertising, no profiling, no analytics.
Cookies
Only one cookie is used: the login session cookie, valid for 30 days. It is required for the user to stay logged in. No tracking, advertising or analytics cookies are used.
Where and for how long
- The user's account and content are stored on the administrator's computer, in Quebec.
- The relay server that makes the page reachable over the Internet (Oracle Cloud, in Montreal) stores no accounts and no music; it only keeps technical logs, which are deleted over time.
- Data is kept as long as the account exists. When an account is deleted, its data is set aside, then permanently erased on request.
Sharing with third parties
The user's data is not sold, rented or shared with third parties. The service only relies on the technical tools it needs to work: Discord (the voice channel), Oracle Cloud (the relay server) and the websites the added tracks come from, such as YouTube, which receive the playback requests.
Security
All traffic goes through an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are irreversibly encrypted and repeated login attempts are blocked. As no system is perfect, the user will be informed of any incident affecting their data.
User rights
In accordance with applicable laws, including Quebec's law on the protection of personal information, the user may ask to access, correct or delete their data by contacting the administrator on Discord.
Changes
This policy may change along with the service. The date at the top of the page indicates the current version. See also the Terms of Use. In case of discrepancy between this English version and the French version, the French version prevails.
